The StartAdmin program is an utility to start programs under Windows OS with the admin privileges meanwhile logged in as user.
Good practice dictates that when using Windows, the user logs in as a “user” and not as “administrator.”
This increases security from cyber attacks and prevents users, typically in corporate environments, from tampering with the operating system by adding, removing, or modifying programs.
However, some programs still require administrator privileges.
How can you solve the problem of allowing users to access these programs while maintaining a high level of security?
StarAdmin solves the problem. The administrator sets a list of programs that the user can run as administrator. To start a program, simply select it and click the [Start command] button.
The user can only access the [User] area, while the administrator will use his password to access the program’s configuration areas.
Passwords are stored in an encrypted file accessible only by the program licensed for the computer where it is installed.
With the [Create batch file] button you can generate a *.bat file that will automatically start the desired program without having to launch StartAdmin.
